Social Value at Equans
Our social value ambition is to have a long-term positive impact on the communities where we operate. It is our responsibility to manage our activities and maximise the positive environmental, social and economic impacts that we deliver for the communities and clients that we serve.
Driven by our IMPACT manifesto, we are committed to engage in our Community’s Development, being a proactive and responsible local economic actor and playing an active role in improving the social and economic resilience of our communities.
To achieve this, we have established a corporate framework for social value, outlining how Equans’ supports the delivery of social value at a corporate level and to assist operational teams and their Divisional strategies.
Our Focus Areas:
- Employment & Skills
- Community Outreach
- Spend & Supply Chain Engagement
We also work with clients to identify opportunities for social value, and with our operational teams and supply chains to deliver on our commitments whilst seeking further opportunities to expand the social value delivered within our communities.
Measuring Social Value
Equans records all social value activities on our online Social Value App, working in collaboration with Social Value Portal, to enable us to reflect and better communicate the social value delivered by our operations and responsible business activity.
Our system synthesises the major social indicators from Social Value Portal's National TOMs (Themes, Outcomes and Measures) Framework, with additional bespoke measures, which enables us to track and report the social value delivered across our sites.
This system produces the total social value corresponding to each identified outcome which helps us to accurately capture and articulate our social impact.
