Government property management continues to evolve beyond the requirement for quality services which maintain building compliance and assist net zero commitments. The delivery of FM in government estates needs to:
- Enable success in supporting policy outcomes
- Enhance lives through enabling social value, inclusion and sustainability
- Ensure value with accessible and responsive spaces supported by skilled professionals
Unlocking this value requires strategic, long-term partnerships - with shared objectives and access to broad capabilities to deliver collaborative & innovative support.
Equans is primed to deliver these requirements and aims to build on its existing support to the UK Government. Equans’ combination of technical & FM services and digital buildings expertise, its leading presence in the UK regeneration sector and its track record in helping customers in their net-zero transitions, uniquely positions the business to provide a full range of support to meet future requirements.
Our strategic account management team utilises its in-depth understanding of government priorities to tailor our service delivery whilst addressing potential barriers to success – collaborating to maximise both departmental and wider government objectives whilst also advising & innovating to help shape the cross-government property agenda.
We are proud to be working with the Government Property Profession to help deliver government’s strategic property agenda as well as working with individual departments to deliver their strategic and operational property objectives - embedding departmental policy outcomes in our work, such as social value and sustainability innovations.

Delivering the Net Zero Transition
From the development of comprehensive carbon reduction strategies to the application of our broad technical & FM expertise to decarbonise buildings – Equans unlocks integrated net zero solutions for its partners.
Equans collaborates with government departments to deliver these sustainable outcomes through its major FM contracts such as with HM Courts & Tribunals Service. As part of existing CCS frameworks we can also provide key decarbonisation technologies and services including Smart Buildings & IoT solutions, Workplace EV Charging, embedded renewables and electricity generation assets.
Embedding Social Value
Between 2021-22 Equans spent £510m with Small-Medium Enterprises (SME’s) through its supply chain – harnessing local innovation and supporting the government’s levelling-up agenda.
Equans recognises the need for strategic thinking behind social value and its role in addressing societal challenges, and the company integrates social value into comprehensive programs linked to projects and broader initiatives.
As well as engaging in the development of our communities, we’re committed to providing fair & equal opportunities for all. We’re proud to promote a strong culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion at all levels of our company through our ‘Be Yourself’ strategy.
