North East
A regional approach to net zero
From building and operating a brand-new district heating system in Newcastle, de-gassing high-rise tower blocks through the installation of ground or air source heat pumps; accessing government funds to decarbonise public buildings, including museums, leisure centres, libraries and theatres; or ensuring top institutions like Northumbria and Durham University are fit for the future – the North East is making zero carbon a reality.
Here we take a deep dive into an entire region’s approach to net zero and its journey to decarbonisation, which can, and should, act as a model to be replicated – bringing us ever closer to the net zero goal.
“ The installation of Air Source Heat Pumps is the next step in our journey towards Net Zero Carbon. The speed and skill of the installation is a credit to the professionalism of the whole EQUANS team who have supported us to successfully deliver this project. ”
