Responsible Business
Our ApproachEquans takes all aspects of Responsible Business (RB) seriously. As an industry leader, we have a unique opportunity to draw on our capabilities in energy, services and regeneration to develop new sustainable services delivering low-carbon, energy-efficient places and spaces. All this with the focus on supporting the UK transition towards net zero carbon.
We believe that acting responsibly across our business will help us to achieve financial sustainability. Indeed, the performance of our business is measured not just in terms of financial metrics, but also through wider non-financial indicators.
Equans is committed to achieving global and sustainable performance through IMPACT - our manifesto for being a responsible business for our customers and ourselves.
IMPACT is centred on seven key commitments and, underlines the company’s commitment to operate to the highest economic, social and environmental standards. It also ensures transparency and accountability on critical issues including; speed of supplier payments, environmental and social responsibility, diversity and inclusion, ethics and health and safety.
Targets & Governance
IMPACT is governed at the very highest level within Equans at our Exec Board and details our commitments and targets against which measure our performance. We have an internal quarterly reporting cycle to report on progress which is then published annually in our IMPACT report.
All employees at Equans are also expected to include a mandatory goal relating to IMPACT, Health & Safety and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion as part of the annual objective setting exercise. This ensures that employees think about how to embed responsible business practices in their roles.
