EQUANS were appointed by NatWest to deliver 600 high power GeniePoint electric vehicle charging points across its office locations in the UK. The five-year deal includes supply, commissioning and operation of a network of EV chargers across various NatWest offices. A total of 600 sockets will be in place by 2023.
As part of the partnership, EQUANS has recently delivered one of the largest electric vehicle charging car park installations in the UK, at NatWest head office in Gogarburn Edinburgh, consisting of 264 sockets in total.
The partnership not only enables NatWest to support their colleagues to make the switch to EV, but also their transition to a fleet of 300 EV’s.
The West Yorkshire Combined Authority: A case study
EQUANS partnered with the West Yorkshire Combined Authority to deliver an innovative £3m scheme which included the installation of 88 charge points, all powered by 100% renewable energy. The project included £2m investment from the Office of Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV), plus match funding of £1.2m from the district councils.
EQUANS also provided project investment and free charging at all charging points for the first two years, as a further incentive for residents and business users. Efficient delivery has allowed 96 chargers to be delivered within the original budget for 88 and the scheme has seen huge successes, with over 11 million free miles provided to drivers since the launch in 2019.
Morrisons: A case study
In 2018, Morrisons enlisted EQUANS to deliver electric vehicle charging infrastructure across their store estate. This formed part of Morrisons' efforts to meet their sustainability targets, as well as providing another convenient local service to attract more customers to their stores.
To date, over 250 chargers have been installed, which means that over half of Morrisons stores now have electric vehicle charging. Morrisons also now has the highest number of rapid chargers compared to any other UK supermarket.
EQUANS has also recently delivered an EV charging hub at Morrisons in Little Clacton, which consists of 14 chargers, ranging from 7kW to 300kW.
