How much does it cost to charge with GeniePoint?
The GeniePoint network pricing is as follows:
Registered & guest drivers
- Outside London: 83p per kWh
- London: 85p per kWh
Contactless
- Outside London: 88p per kWh
- London: 90p per kWh
An overstay charge of £10.00 after 90 minutes and £10.00 for every 90 minutes thereafter applies.
Please note, if you are a driver eligible to receive a discount on your charging price this will be applied to the new rates.
London is defined as chargers that are within the M25.
Important information
- Separately owned chargersThere are a number of chargers supplied by GeniePoint that are owned separately and the cost to charge may differ. For specific pricing information for these schemes, please refer to the GeniePoint app.
- Pre-authorisationWhen you charge with GeniePoint, a pre-authorisation amount is reserved on your payment card when you start a charge session. It is held temporarily and is released by your bank once the total fee for the charging session is processed. Your bank can take up to 30 days to release the payment. For registered drivers, the pre-authorisation is £25 and for guest users / contactless payments, the pre-authorisation is £35. By using the GeniePoint App to start a charge, you will benefit from a lower pre-authorisation amount and we will only ever attempt the pre-authorisation once during your session.
