Our work
Since 2012, Equans has refurbished more than 3,500 empty properties - creating much-needed homes for residents to move into.
Each month, the team transforms around 20 empty properties, carrying out structural repairs, internal and external refurbishments.
Equans works on behalf of Leeds Federated Housing Association on a range of projects including retrofit, repairs and maintenance, and void refurbishment.
By working in close collaboration across the city, we help to keep residents’ homes warm, safe and in good condition.
Equans has partnered with Leeds Fed to decarbonise more than 440 ‘fuel poor’ homes in Leeds and Harrogate, completed through the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) Government scheme.
As part of the project, a mix of terraced houses and bungalows have undergone significant upgrades, including new attic room insulation, as well as some properties benefitting from new windows and doors. New smart heating control technology has been fitted to give residents better control over the temperature in their homes when rooms are not being used.
The upgrades are expected to save over 20,000 tonnes of carbon emissions over the course of their lifetime, with some residents
