Overview
Equans is partnering with Colas Rail UK on the Coventry Very Light Rail (CVLR) Phase 2 Project - an innovative 800-metre twin-track connection between Coventry Station and Coventry University Technology Park, commissioned by Coventry City Council. The Equans team conducted extensive pre-construction surveys to support the project’s technical requirements and its wider sustainability ambitions. In addition, Equans are currently assisting Colas Rail with further scope and provide de-risking measures to enable timely delivery and avoid programme slippages in upcoming construction phases.
Our work
Colas Rail’s CVLR installation represents a sustainable, innovative light rail transport solution in Coventry, delivering a fast, affordable, and safe transport system with minimal disruption to local stakeholders. Equans engaged early in the project to understand pre-construction and design requirements, developing a detailed programme of works.
We ensured that all necessary pre-start documentation and SHEQ paperwork were in place and worked on-site collaboratively with Colas Rail and representatives from Coventry City Council, the project’s end customer. Our work strictly adhered to the KPIs and deliverables outlined by Colas Rail. Throughout the process, Equans maintained robust project management practices to guarantee quality, safety, and timely delivery, while facilitating open communication among stakeholders to ensure a seamless transition from the surveying phase to construction readiness.
