The Energy Companies Obligation (ECO) is a government policy mechanism aimed at improving the energy efficiency of the UK’s building stock. 

Like previous schemes, the ECO imposes a legal obligation on the largest energy suppliers to deliver energy efficiency measures to domestic energy users in homes across the UK.

This extra financial assistance is available to householders who are vulnerable to the detrimental health implications of living in cold homes, to those on benefits or low incomes, and to those who live in hard-to-heat properties.

If you qualify for an ECO grant you could be entitled to a significant amount of funding to have a range of energy efficient improvements installed, such as loft or wall insulation and replacement boilers.
