Last month, we hosted our first Apprenticeship Induction Day. Held at our London headquarters, we welcomed our largest cohort of apprentices yet to our ever-growing apprenticeship scheme and to the wider business. The new starters took advantage of our diverse range of apprenticeships, from electrical, carpentry, building services management, and even horticultural!
On the day, apprentices enjoyed a fully immersive experience. Whether they were discovering what we do as a business, the operations of different departments through interactive talks, or simply getting to know each other, the day was jam-packed with engaging activities.
The apprentices are now settling in to enjoy their apprenticeship programme. Moshe Ikala, who has just begun his Building Services Apprenticeship, enthuses:
"I'm on my second week and I'm enjoying every second of it. My apprenticeship programme is helping me gain a better understanding of my career while working, learning, and earning all at the same time. I can't wait to learn more skills!"
We recognise the value of attracting the next generation of talent into our business. Apprenticeships are a vital method to address our industry’s skills gap while providing those who undertake them with a unique opportunity to gain both a recognised qualification and invaluable experience in the working world. Our apprenticeship scheme fast-tracks our apprentices’ development through the application of learnt practical skills in line with the company’s commitment to innovation and excellence, to give each apprentice an outstanding head start to their career. Bouygues E&S’ Regional Director, Adrian Fortescue, a former apprentice, is testament to how far an apprenticeship can take you:
"Completing an apprenticeship was an excellent launchpad to my working life. It gave me the skills, qualifications, and workplace experience that I needed to build a career. Bouygues E&S' apprenticeship scheme provides excellent development opportunities that I have enjoyed seeing previous cohorts take advantage of. I wish the best of luck to our newest cohort!"
Michelle Ansah, Emerging Talent Adviser at Bouygues E&S, an Equans company, affirmed the sentiment, sharing:
“We firmly believe that the training, support, and networks that we offer to our apprentices takes their experience to the next level while keeping Bouygues E&S at the forefront of our industry.”
