EV charging network GeniePoint partners with Bonnet to provide over 900 chargers for EV drivers

GeniePoint network

EQUANS, who own and operate the GeniePoint network - the third largest rapid electric vehicle charging network in the UK, has partnered with Bonnet, EV charge point aggregator, to enable EV drivers to access and pay for charging at public GeniePoint chargers using the Bonnet App.

With the ban on the sale of petrol and diesel vehicles in 2030, both Bonnet and EQUANS see this partnership as vital in simplifying the public charging experience for an increasing number of motorists who are making the switch to EVs.
The GeniePoint network includes over 900 chargers situated in convenient locations nationwide, allowing drivers to charge their vehicles with ease.
Depending on the make and model of vehicle, GeniePoint’s 50kW rapid charge points provide an 80% charge within 45 minutes. Chargers can be found at strategic locations across the country including Morrisons supermarkets and Whitbread’s Premier Inn Estates.
Dee Humphries, Director of EQUANS’ EV Solutions business, said: “At GeniePoint, we’re committed to improving charger accessibility, to ensure that drivers can get a charge whenever and wherever they need it. We’re excited to be partnering with Bonnet, a business who shares our values in innovation and service, to be able to offer EV drivers a convenient and simple way to charge.

“We hope that through making the charging experience as easy as possible for drivers with partners like Bonnet, we can accelerate the UK’s transition to electric vehicles.”

Patrick Reich, co-founder and CEO of Bonnet, said: “Bonnet is dedicated to making public charging as easy as possible for EV drivers across the country and we are delighted to be adding GeniePoint to Bonnet’s growing network of charge point operators.
“GeniePoint’s state of the art rapid charge points will be available for all Bonnet users, allowing them to quickly charge their vehicles at locations across the country. This partnership is a further step towards alleviating charging anxiety concerns that many drivers still have.”

The partnership marks the fifteenth CPO to be added to Bonnet’s growing roster of charge point operators, bringing the total number of charge point locations to over 32,000.
