Equans celebrates contract extension from Manchester City Council
Equans is delighted to have been awarded a contract extension by Manchester City Council (MCC), as the business celebrates two years of providing facilities management services to Manchester’s vast public buildings portfolio.
2019 saw the business secure a three-year contract with Manchester City Council, to provide hard facilities management services to more than 400 council buildings in the city, in a deal worth in excess of £15 million. As the business moves into its third year, MCC has extended the contract to 2023.
“ Manchester City Council is fully committed to offering the best public facilities for its constituents and we’re delighted to be supporting them in achieving this ambition. “Over the last two years, our expert team has been dedicated to delivering a high-quality FM service for the Council and the local community, completing over 40,000 jobs across the city and achieving 100% statutory compliance, so it’s a fantastic achievement to be awarded a contract extension. “We’re delighted to continue our longstanding partnership with the Council, and over the next year we will be building on the zero carbon and sustainability initiatives we’ve already commenced, to ensure we support MCC’s commitment to reducing their carbon emissions by 50% by 2030. ”
Equans continues its pledge to supporting the local community, with the business already investing over £1.1m across Manchester, to support local charities, partner with education facilities to prepare students for future careers and by providing development and apprenticeship opportunities to people across the city.
