Equans and Southbank Centre win PFM Partnership Awards for Covid Reaction
Equans and Southbank Centre have picked up the accolade of Partners in Covid Reaction at the Premises and Facilities Management Awards 2021.
The award was presented at a black-tie ceremony held on Wednesday 3 November at the Brewery in London, hosted by sporting personality Martin Bayfield.
The Partners in Covid Reaction category recognised the collaboration working between Equans and Southbank Centre and the benefits delivered during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Since teaming up with Southbank Centre in London in April 2020 through a TFM contract, Equans has delivered a cleaning transformation across the Southbank estate. This was achieved despite the constraints imposed by COVID-19 regulations and the impact of the pandemic on the Centre’s entertainment venues.
“ A partnering ethos has been established very quickly within this contract and Equans has already delivered significant benefits, helping Southbank through the Covid challenges whilst, at the same time, improving cleaning standards, efficiency and productivity. I am confident this has played a pivotal role in us winning this award and it’s a testament to the whole team involved. ”
A key priority for the contract over the last 12 months has been to keep the venues viable and running through the pandemic, whilst looking after both staff and buildings. Through a comprehensive range of initiatives, including the introduction of chemical free cleaning solutions, a deep heat plan and an improved cleaning regime, delivered in partnership with the client team, Equans has successfully elevated the cleaning standards and delivered performance improvements that have reduced facilities operating costs for by 60% over the lockdown period.
“ Since teaming up with Equans, we have worked in close partnership to introduce practical solutions that reflect both the needs of our venues, visitors and, staff and the restrictions imposed by COVID-19. ”
