Construction work at extra care facility takes a significant step towards completion
An exciting new housing development for the over 55s is one step closer to completion as the final tile is placed on its roof.
Equans is building the second phase of the complex at Berrington Court in Kidderminster, on behalf of Community Housing.
To celebrate the success of the project so far, representatives from Equans and Community Housing came together to help lay the final tile.
The new four-storey development, which will be connected to the original building via a path, will have 65 one-and-two bed apartments, carefully designed to suit the needs of those aged 55 and over. Each apartment will have a fully-fitted kitchen with integrated appliances and a spacious bathroom for ease of mobility.

The first phase of Berrington Court was built by Equans in 2016, and is made up of 100 apartments and a mixture of communal areas including a restaurant and cafe bar, lounges, a beauty salon and activity space.
These facilities will also be available to residents of the second phase.
Work is expected to be finished by February of 2022.
