A pioneering project in Sunderland saw the largest tower block gas replacement in the UK with Equans leading on the work.

An innovative project to install lifesaving sprinklers and ground source heat pumps for the benefit of 364 flats in Sunderland was led by Equans and involves what was thought to be the largest gas replacement in high-rise tower blocks in the country.

The project, named ‘Core 364’, was delivered on behalf of North East housing association Gentoo, as part of a £9million investment in the tower blocks.
